Museum Industriekultur Nürnberg

The Museum of Industrial Culture is located in a former machine factory and tells of the changes that work and everyday life were subject to in the industrial age.

The geographical focus is on Nuremberg and the surrounding area. The museum began in 1979 as the Industrial Culture Center, moved to its current location in 1988, became part of the municipal museum network in 1994 and underwent extensive expansions from 1997-98. The exhibition focuses on historical school experiences or life on a fire station as well as the keyword cinema or the production of the famous Nuremberg gingerbread. An extension has housed an engine museum since 1995.

In a former screw factory from the 1920s, work and everyday life from yesteryear come back to life: from the steam engine to the workers' apartment to the talking kitchen - exhibits become actors and visitors become explorers. Young and old can lend a hand at some of the demonstrations. Nuremberg's heyday as a place for two-wheeler production comes to life in the motorcycle collection.
