Fahrzeug- und Technikmuseum Neuendorf

The owner of the museum, Karl Zimmermann, has been lovingly restoring classic cars since 1968 - whether motorcycles, racing boats, cars or other machines. He is fascinated by the technology behind it. A considerable collection of technical dinosaurs grew out of this passion.

Gradually the private collection grew so large that he opened a museum. New technology jewels were constantly being added and soon the 200 square meters were too small; a bigger hall was needed. The museum has been growing steadily since the expansion in 1988. In the meantime, around 50 series and racing machines, 6 racing boats and various other historical wonders of technology cavort on 800 square meters.

Today the museum in Neuendorf is the largest vehicle and technology museum in Northern Bavaria. The trained arms mechanic and master plumber and painter Karl Zimmermann (born 1940) is particularly proud of his steam engine from 1912 with a 5 meter flywheel, which was in use until 1990.

The Neuendorf Vehicle and Technology Museum can count a number of celebrities among its visitors - including numerous racing legends. The entertainer Peter Kraus visited the Neuendorf Vehicle Museum as a celebrity guest in 1991. The following well-known former motorcycle racers were also guests:

Gustl Hobl (Vice World Champion from 1956 on a DKW 3-cylinder), Siegfried Wünsche (DKW racing driver from 1936-55; German champion), Walter Kaaden (former MZ racing director), Horst Fügner (MZ racing driver until 1959), Heinz Rosner (MZ racing driver until 1969), Alan Shephard (well-known English MZ racing driver, won the 250 cc World Championship run in Daytona in 1964), Ernst Leverkus (famous motorcycle journalist), Karl Reese (former veteran vehicle association president), Willy Hof (current Veterans Vehicle Association President).
