Harzer Bikeschmiede

Harzer Bikeschmiede - the technology museum for mechanics, drivers and families.

The Harzer Bikeschmiede has dedicated itself to the fascination of historical technology for years. The collection includes motorcycles, historical utensils, ancient workshop equipment and machines, engines, antique toys, war-displaced vehicles, bicycles, cars and trucks.

Fantastic highlights await visitors here:

- the most powerful motorcycle in the world - the Guinness world record - a motorcycle with a gigantic tank engine
- the first state coach of the GDR, the only remaining copy from government circles
- the largest motorcycle combination in Europe with a Tatra engine - 7 people fit in the unloaded sidecar
- ... and many other technical rarities

In order to present this technology in a suitable setting, three large half-timbered barns and buildings on 5000 m² have been extensively renovated and steam sheds, gas stations, blacksmiths and shelters built in the historical half-timbered style over the past 5 years.

You step through the huge gate into the exciting time around 1880 to 1970, which produced many ingenious, pioneering inventions.
