Vintage Motorbike museum

If you have even a slight interest in old classic motorcycles and cars, then you MUST visit Mike Barry's Museum at Scaleby Hill. It is NOT a traditional museum with remote exhibits that are behind glass, or out of reach of the visitors, but you are actually walking between the bikes and talking with Mike, the affable owner and restorer of the exhibits on show.
Mike has around 40+ bikes on display, and he willingly spends time knowledgeably discussing what he has done to restore them to their current fine condition. There are a few 'work-in-progress' bikes also on display which adds to the authenticity of the experience. Several friendly and well-behaved dogs are in residence, and will welcome you into the building and escort you on your trip around the exhibits. Apart from motorcycles, exhibits include juke-boxes, model motorcycles, large scale radio-controlled aeroplanes and lots of railway and motoring memorabilia. There is also a classic Jaguar saloon and Austin van, both of which are in regular road use, and most of the motorcycles which date from the 1920s to the 1960s are road legal. There are a couple of racing bikes, and racing sidecar outfits; also one or two bikes from the 90s and 00s, but most are famous old British or Italian marques.
